Description: Le Domaine de Méjanes is open all year and enables visitors to discover the Camargue and its wealth of habitat in one of several ways – either by train, by hiring bikes or on horseback.Location: 13200 Arles, at Méjanes on the Etang de Vaccarès, SW of Arles just off D37.Website: http://www.mejanes.camargue.fr/ledomain.html, Tel No: 0033 4 90 97 10 10.Our Recommendations: Take a 3.5km long circular train ride (pictured left) along the Vaccarès lagoon . There are flamingos, wildlife and other migratory birds in close proximity – as the train is electric powered it doesn’t scare them off as it approaches.
